Magda believes in the transformatory power of education to lift people out of poverty and to build a more promising future, and is passionate about making a difference where it’s needed most.
She developed great passion for education and international development during her time at Aberdeen University, and decided to study for an MA in International Development at Manchester University focusing her academic research around education and poverty alleviation in the developing world, and African studies. Her passion, knowledge and seeing first-hand the poverty, lack of access and poor quality education in some of the poorest and most remote parts of The Gambia, she decided to start Behati Foundation in 2019.
She is responsible for the strategic direction of the charity, building strategies for growth, funding and grants management along with holding overall responsibility for supporting day to day operations.

Mr Jabbi is the Head Teacher of Brufut Upper and Senior Secondary School in Banjul, The Gambia. With 27 years of teaching experience, Mr Jabbi has an intimate knowledge of the local communities’ needs, which is invaluable to our work.
He is passionate about improving the quality of life in local rural areas and believes in working with both the authorities and communities in reaching key outcomes.
Mr Jabbi is responsible for in-country programme oversight, liaison with communities, schools and authorities, and day-to-day management of projects on the ground.
