40% of the Gambian population do not have access to sanitation leaving many ten of thousands children and young people at continuous risk of illnesses and even death.

According to UNICEF, water, sanitation and hygiene related diseases account for 20% of the deaths of those children under the age of five in The Gambia. Therefore, we will be investing in water, sanitation and hygiene projects in the schools we work with to reduce the likelihood of infections in order to lower the  risks of illness and preventable death.
